An invitation to learn about the sustainable goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted in September 2015 by 193 countries, gives us a 15 year way forward to create actions and collaborations to preserve our planet, design social programs, increase equity, food for all, build safe and healthy communities, and reduce the effects of climate change. These universal SDGs goals is part of the Agenda 2030 framework, to guide UN nation members’ work during the next 15 years when implementing actions. To accomplish the SDGs, the first step is to learn what they are and create ways to implement them.

The Summer training event s being held at Ryerson University, a co-located training session in collaboration with the International Humanitarian Technology Conference (IHTC2017), sponsored by the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is hosted by the Toronto Section.

First initiated by the IEEE Humanitarian Initiatives Committee, July 2017 is the third conference in the humanitarian conference series in Canada and previously hosted by the Montreal and Ottawa Sections. Joan Kerr is a founding member of the Humanitarian Initiatives Committee (HIC), and has participated in all three conferences.

A SDGs Certificate will be awarded to all participants at the end of the training session
